What to expect from Mwynion Mai?

As we tailor our services to suit the needs of each individual client the service we offer does vary. However, despite the fact that each wedding is different we do have flat rate pricing, which is not normally dependent on time spent at the wedding.

Some Clients book the duo as the result of a recommendation from a friend or a wedding venue. Others have come across us through Internet links such as www.weddingguide.co.uk or heard the duo performing at a wedding Fayre or concert.

Jane & Eluned have been performing at weddings as Mwynion Mai since 1989 and their vast experience enables them to help you with the selection of music suitable for the style of your wedding.

The duo have performed at Religious Wedding Ceremonies at many different Churches as well as at most of the Licensed Venues in South Wales. The Duo have performed at Wedding Receptions in venues ranging from Parish Halls to Five Star Hotels with guest lists ranging from 25 to 250.

No matter what the venue or style of your Wedding Ceremony and / or Reception, if you would like live music from what is most probably the best known professional duo in Wales Mwynion Mai is pleased to help.

Booking The Duo

The Duo can be booked for your wedding ceremony (religious or civil), your reception or for both.

If you are interested in booking the duo we would recommend completing a Booking Enquiry Form as soon as possible, especially if you are getting married on a Friday or Saturday in the summer months as we can normally only undertake one wedding a day.

When making an enquiry please note that we do not take bookings more than 18 months in advance of the wedding date and we no longer travel much further than 50 miles from Cardiff.

Client Testimonials

Wedding Ceremonies:-

The duo perform at civil & religious ceremonies.

On the day the Duo normally play background music for 1/2 an hour prior to the start of the ceremony to entertain the guests and during the ceremony itself they usually play four pieces:-

One selected piece for the Processional March
Two selected pieces during Signing of the Register

One selected piece for the Recessional March

Rather than presenting clients with a list of tunes to choose from, some of which clients might not recognise from name alone, we offer the chance of a meeting to select the Ceremony Music. At the meeting the Duo play a variety of different tunes to help the client to choose music to suit their style of wedding.

If the client wants a particular tune for the ceremony that is not in our repertoire we will do our best to write a special arrangement. Providing the duo has already been booked for the wedding there is no charge for the meeting or for writing a special arrangement.

Wedding Receptions:-

The Duo can be booked for either the pre reception drinks the reception itself or for both parts of the reception. A meeting to select music is not required for receptions. The client needs only to tell us what sort of Reception Music they would like and we will select suitable music from our full repertoire.

During the Welcoming Line Up the duo is happy to play specific requests from our repertoire. Also if the Bride & Groom are making an entrance into the dining room after the guests are seated the duo can play a specific piece, perhaps the same Recessional March as used at the ceremony, as the couple enter the room and proceed to the top table.

When playing during the wedding breakfast the duo do not put a time limit on the performance. They start playing when guests enter the room and do not finish until the end of the meal, so that they can depart before the speeches start.
