Musicians / Venues we work with
José L. Elizondo In late November 2006, the wonders of the internet, introduced us to the music of the Mexican composer José L. Elizondo, we were so taken with his beautiful composition Princesa de Hadas that we will be performing it twice in December 2006. At our Christmas concert on 17 and at the Wales Millennium Centre on 28 (see our Concert page for details). Please do visit his site and listen to some of his other wonderful work!
The Cardiff Ardwyn Singers Formed in 1964, the Cardiff Ardwyn Singers, from the capital of Wales, have become a formidable choral force on the National and world stage, under their Musical Director, Helena Braithwaite MBE
Evensong Their songs have their origins in the old Celtic traditions of long past. Very haunting, very spiritual, including much self written compositions.
Catherine Handley & Huw Chidgey Web site for Catherine & Huw's Acoustic Folk Duo. Catherine has performed with Mwynion Mai on many occasions in the past and we hope to soon be able to do a joint concert with Catherine & Huw's new (2003) Folk Group.
Benjamin Creighton Griffiths This web site is more about Benjamin's concerts for BBC Children in Need rather than about Benjamin himself. Benjamin is Jane's son and Eluned is his Godmother. This site is well worth a visit. (I would say that I am Benjamin's father!)
Wales Millennium Centre Wales Millennium Centre, on Cardiff Bay waterfront, is the most exciting cultural initiative happening in Europe today. Not only a place to see the best in international musicals, opera, ballet and dance, it is also home to seven diverse and exciting cultural organisations
The Berkeley Duo As well as performing with Mwynion Mai, Jane Groves (flute) also performs in a flute & piano duo with Jenny Rees
Welsh Sinfonia As well as performing with Mwynion Mai, Jane Groves (flute) freelance with a number of ensembles including the Welsh Sinfonia
Wingfield Ensemble The Wingfield Ensemble is a string group made up of players from the Welsh Sinfonia.
David Watkins An informative site about David Watkins - harpist, composer and arranger. His compositions include Petite Suite, A welsh Landscape and 'Concertino Pastorale', which he played with the London Philharmonic at the Royal Festival Hall, Walter Susskind conducting.
